巴伦 County Facilities: HVAC Mechanic

位置: A full-time university staff position is available in 巴伦 County Facilities beginning as soon as possible. The working title for this assignment is HVAC Mechanic with an official title of HVAC Mechanic.  This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period to last at least one year.  The expected hourly hiring salary will be $27/ hr.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a thorough knowledge of:

• Must have knowledge and skills to troubleshoot heating, 通风, air conditioning systems and their components. 
• Must have knowledge of pneumatic and electronic control systems.
• Must have knowledge of hot 水 heating system and components.
• Must have knowledge and skills to repair kitchen equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Has 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Honeywell automation and 控制.

职责: This position reports to the UW-Eau克莱尔 Chief Facilities Officer and the UW-Eau克莱尔 巴伦 County Campus Director.  It is responsible for maintenance and repair of building HVAC systems throughout the UW-Eau克莱尔 巴伦 County campus.  This is a first shift position and responds to emergencies on the 巴伦 County campus. This position also supervises, 管理, 日程安排, and coordinates the work of UW-Eau克莱尔 巴伦 County Facilities staff (1 Facility 修复 Worker and 2 Custodians).

Incumbent must possess required skills to perform maintenance and repair of general HVAC, building mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Must have working knowledge of tools and equipment necessary to perform these duties as well as parts and components of systems. (belts, 过滤器, couplings, 泵, motors, fans, 等). 

Maintain Building Heating and Ventilation Systems and Related Equipment

• 修复, maintain and overhaul building heating and air conditioning systems such as fans, 线圈, 轴承, air handling units, 泵, 过滤器, 控制, 等.
• 修复 and maintain movable equipment such as window air conditioners, portable vacuum 泵, departmental equipment, 等.

• Clean condenser and evaporator tubes, rebuild compressors, heat exchangers and related equipment.  To comply with federal and state regulations on all units using CFC as a refrigerant.
• Perform scheduled maintenance such as replacing 过滤器, 检查轴承, replace 阀门 and seals, 改变油, clean and flush 线圈.

• Monitor, adjust, maintain and repair HVAC or refrigeration systems.
• 给 directions to maintenance personnel on operation and maintenance of campus steam, 水, HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Fabricate, install and make recommendations for the design of ductwork for ventilation systems.

Staff Management and Communication

• Supervise, manage and lead Facilities staff members.
• Manage work assignments, building unlocking and locking, vacation requests, staff timesheets 等.
• Serve as liaison between campus and county staff for technical questions or concerns as it relates to the facility infrastructure.

Maintain Campus Water and Steam Systems

• Fill the chilled 水 systems at the beginning of each cooling season and drain the system at the end of each cooling season.
• Test chilled/heating 水 systems and make adjustments to chemical feed as necessary.
• Maintain proper inventory of chemicals used for 水 treatment.
• Provide input on 水 system design or redesign as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair campus steam systems including low and high pressure steam.

Operate Computerized Maintenance Management System

• Monitor Honeywell system for HVAC problems.
• Correct HVAC problems indicated by Honeywell alarms.
• Make adjustments in 日程安排 on the Honeywell systems.

Maintain and 修复 Kitchen and Laboratory Equipment

• Maintain, repair and replace kitchen equipment when required.
• Maintain and repair laboratory equipment throughout the campus.

Maintain and 修复 Building Plumbing Systems and Components

• Work with contracted electricians in repair of electrical systems.

• Responsible for making simple welding repairs.
